Seeing our boy in 3D!

Yesterday was an exciting day for us and our families. We were able to see our baby Aiden for the first time in 3D! He moved around quite a bit (like always) and made the technician chase him a little but we still got some great images.

As expected he looks and moves like a beautiful and healthy baby. 11 weeks and counting until we can finally see him in person. We can hardly wait!

22 Weeks and boy is he moving!

Aiden has started to noticeably move here in the last two weeks. I love to question Alicia about her day with Aiden and how much he moved. Sometimes is seems overwhelming to think that we are going to be parents of a beautiful baby boy in less than 4 months.

The first time I felt Aiden

It seems that everyday when I get home I want to touch Alicia's stomach to see if I can feel Aiden. Tonight, that wish was granted. He was actually moving quite a bit. This just brings the excitement to a whole notha' level. WooHoo!

Grandparents Wishes

For every grandparent, the name their grandchildren call them is something special to each of them. Aiden's grandparents have chosen what names they would like to be called and they are as follows:

Kevin's Dad (Calvin)= Grand-dad
Kevin's Mom (Jan) = Mi-Mi
Kevin's Stepmother (Janice) = Nana
Alicia's Dad (Jeff) = Grandpa
Alicia's Mom (Barbara) = Grandma

Boy! Aiden is going to LOVE his grandparents!

Aiden's Name

If you are familiar with the "Sex and the City" series then you will know there was a character named Aiden on the show (Alicia always loved this name). We agreed many years ago that this would be the name of our first boy.

The (Historical) Origins and Meaning of the name Aiden:

The name Aiden is Gealic and means "Little Fire"

St Aidan was the founder of the monastery of Lindisfarne in north England. He is credited with the restoration of Christianity to Northumbria.

Aiden's middle name is "Pete". My grandfather Harold Payne Weaver was an important figure in my childhood. People called him "Pete" as a nickname. I wanted to honor my late grandfather through my sons name. To this day I think of my "Papa" a lot and hope that I can teach my child the love, gentleness, moralilty and respect that my grandfather has instilled into me.

The Turner name arrived in England after the Norman Conquest of 1066. I will be posting the family crest as soon as I confirm the history of the family.

Aiden's new blog!!!

Well it's official. Alicia and I are going to be proud parents of a little boy. We are very excited to share this new journey with all of our friends and family, therefore we have created this blog to update new things, old things and just... THINGS.

We are looking forward to adding a genealogy of both sides of the family (with the help of the Grandparents of course!). I (Kevin) will be adding the sonogram video as soon as I get it edited and ready for viewing.

Let the excitement commence!!!
